[edit] Plot

We go to when we see the runaway brother, Rokusuke, trying to dig out the dead person's grave and body. A masked stranger asks him what he is doing and 6 more surround him. Back at the curry restaurant the old woman is mixing more curry and trying to reassure herself that Karashi will come back. Team Guy plus Naruto are chasing Rokusuke and see the masked men. Neji tells Naruto not to be so rash, and Lee checks Guy's notes. Tenten says that Guy's notes might not be right and Lee objects, to which Neji tells him to shut up. The seven Shinobi bring Rokusuke in front of a house and the door opens, which reveals the last ninja, Raiga. They ask Rokusuke whether they have good relations with everyone in the town, but the brother just begs for forgiveness. Raiga says that it is okay and they will have his funeral.

Rokusuke cries, saying that he isn't ready to die yet. Raiga says that people lie, curse, and detest other people until they die, but at a funeral, all grudges are forgotten. Rokusuke sweats profusely as he stares and shudders while backing away. He tries to get away, but one of the men traps him and Raiga tells him to get ready for Rokusuke's funeral.

We see a mining shaft as slaves pour rocks into bags and haul them out of the shaft as one of the swordsmen watch over them. An old man is holding rocks but he drops them. The swordsman tells him to hurry up or they will hold his funeral. Naruto says that he will beat him up as other miners watch. Lee goes along and punches all of them senseless. Naruto offers the old man some water, but he knocks the bottle away. The old man begs them to knock him out, like what they did to the swordsmen, but when they refuse he starts beating himself. Then they hear a gong. The old man explains whenever the Family hits the gong, it means there is another funeral and the victims are buried alive. The next victim is Rokusuke, who was caught before. Team Guy hears this and they see another coffin, ready for burial. The swordsmen lay down the coffin on the ground. Raiga is grieving but, it is more like laughing and says that he loves funerals. A little boy's voice asks, "When I get a funeral, will it be grand as well?" Raiga objects, saying that he won't get a funeral until he dies. Team Guy gets close and watches the coffin. Neji uses his Byakugan and sees that Rokusuke is still alive. Rokusuke wakes up and sees that he is about to die. Team Guy attacks and successfully beat the thieves; Neji using Juuken, Tenten using a collapsable staff, and Naruto using the Uzumaki Naruto Rendan. Lee is about to beat the last one, but it is Karashi, the one he promised the old curry shop woman to bring back. Karashi has joined the Family out of his own free will, but he believes that the leader will continue to improve the village.

The curry woman is busy making curry and has burned it. Naruto remembers her, and tries to talk Karashi to give up on the Family, but Lee says that he can handle this. Karashi says that you can't get fame by making curry. Naruto is about to punch him, but Lee does it instead. Karashi flashbacks to when he first became energetic like Lee. Lee tells him to promise him to leave the Family, and Karashi agrees. The coffin starts banging again, reminding them that Rokusuke is still alive, and Naruto sets him free. Neji notices something and when he focuses on it, and he sees a murderous intent. Tenten becomes worried, and Naruto comes over and looks in the same direction. Neji proclaims that they are being watched and tells Karashi to take care of Rokusuke. They go to the top of the cliff and Neji sees nothing there. Then a fog covers the land and they see Raiga, using the Hiding in the Mist Technique.

Lee flips through his book and sees that Mist ninja are a experts at this jutsu. Lee tells Neji to use the Byakugan, but he has already been using it. Neji can't see Raiga; he becomes worried because there is no known technique that can block the Byakugan. Raiga asks the boy if Neji can see them, but the boy tells him not to worry and that he has greater power than Neji does. The leader says that he has to beat them, for the peace of the village. The boy asks if they are going to have a funeral but the leader says that since no one knows them, he will take care of them. He clenches his fist along with bring two spiked swords that absorb lightning and use it as projectiles. He asks the boy how was it, the boy responds that it was amazing, and the man laughs.
