The Yayhoos

The Yayhoos is an American rock music band. The band was once described as the 'Harlem Globetrotters of Roots Rock'.[1] [2] Or 'a genuine, supergroup of southern-rock and alt.country heavyweights'. [3] Or just 'supergroup'.[4] The four bandmates share singing, songwriting and playing duties.

  • Terry Anderson (drums) played in The Woodpeckers and wrote a lot of songs for both The Georgia Satellites and Dan Baird, as well as releasing a number of solo albums. Terry is frontman of The Olympic Ass Kickin' Team and the drummer of The Yayhoos.

The Yayhoos released "Fear Not The Obvious" on Bloodshot Records in 2001. Their new record "Put The Hammer Down" was released June 2006.

"Fear Not" was recorded in rural North Carolina at Anderson's fathers barn. "Hammer" was recorded in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Both records were produced by Ambel.

In the 2006 horror movie Slither The Yayhoos song 'Baby I love you’ could be heard.

On his radio show, Bob Dylan played the song 'Bottle and a Bible' by The Yayhoos in October 2006.

The Yayhoos are doing a short European tour in February 2007.
