The Wretched Spawn is a 2004 album by death metal band Cannibal Corpse. The album is considered one of the most technical the band has made; the technicality of the guitar work can be heard in songs such as 'Frantic Disembowlment' and 'Nothing Left To Mutilate'. The cover art by Vincent Locke features a woman giving birth to demonic offspring, devouring her as she gives birth. The cover is shown in Metal: A Headbanger's Journey. Like many Cannibal Corpse albums, there is a censored outer-sleeve and for 'The Wretched Spawn' it is a close-up of the skull sculpture in the top middle of the uncensored cover. This is the last studio album that Jack Owen, one of Cannibal Corpse's founding members, can be heard on before he departed from the band. The album was distributed with a making-of DVD produced by Nick Sahakian.
