The World of Peter Rabbit and Friends
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The World of Peter Rabbit and Friends was an animated television series produced in 1992, based on the works of Beatrix Potter. Released directly to video, the show was later broadcast on the Family Channel in 1993-1995.
Each episode opens up with a live-action Beatrix Potter (portrayed by Niamh Cusack) coming to her farm house out of the rain, sitting down to some tea with her pet rabbit, Peter, and then setting up the featured story. An exception to this is The Tailor of Gloucester, which is set at Christmas time. Some episodes, however, adapt two completely separate stories with similar casts of characters, particularly if one character from one story shows up in the other. Unlike all other animated adaptations of the story, the animation style for The World of Peter Rabbit and Friends is very close to the artwork shown in the original books. Because of this, the show is said to be perhaps the best screen adaptations that the books have ever received. Main Title- "Perfect Day" by Miriam Stockley
