The World Academy of Arts, Literature, and Media

The World Academy of Arts, Literature, and Media (WAALM®) is an extension of the International Further Studies Institute – IFSI®. It was established by Prof. Mustafa Dorbayani, PhD in February 2005 in order to support, develop and promote Dramatic and Fine Arts, Creative Writing, Poetry, and Literature as well as Professional Journalism and Media Productions.

WAALM offered its first annual "Persian Golden Lioness Awards®" (formerly Persian Academy Awards International) in a ceremony that was conducted in Budapest on October 29, 2005 through which 25 artists and scholars of Hungary and Persia were honored.

The Persian Golden Lioness Awards are conferred in three categories:
- Dramatic, Music, and Fine Arts
- Literature, Creative Writing, and Poetry
- Professional Journalism and Media (Radio/TV Productions, Magazines and Newspapers, and Websites)

The Persian golden lioness depicted by the award statuette is a mystic ancient figure from Persepolis, a legendary lioness with wings which symbolizes power and dignity.
