IMDb profile |
The Wonderful World of Auto-Tainment! is the 19th episode in the VeggieTales series. It was released in early 2003 on DVD and VHS. It is a variety show in which the Veggies sing songs from various sing-along albums in a format that conforms to Larry's idea of what the future of entertainment will be like. In Larry's estimation, entertainment will be fully automated. Using devices such as the "Wheel of Veggies" and the "Balls of Disorder", random performers will be paired with random musical numbers. Even jokes will be randomly generated. It is the first VeggieTales episode to be made by Big Idea since its acquisition by Classic Media in mid-2003.

[edit] Notes and Trivia
- The inclusion of "Modern Major General" from The Pirates of Penzance continues VeggieTales writers' obsession with Gilbert and Sullivan. Other parodies involving the operatic duo are Lyle the Kindly Viking (2001), The Star of Christmas (2002), and Sumo of the Opera (2004).
- Rusty and the Ventrilo-matic were introduced in an Easter Egg on the DVD of Jonah: A VeggieTales Movie.
