The Warning is the second full-length release from the British electronic indie band Hot Chip. Notable tracks include the UK hit singles "Over and Over" and "And I Was A Boy From School", as well as "(Just Like We) Breakdown" which was featured and remixed on the DFA Records compilation album The DFA Remixes – Chapter One.
The Warning was released in the UK on May 22, 2006, and in the US on June 13, 2006 on DFA Records/Astralwerks. The album was nominated for the 2006 Mercury Music Prize alongside such works by Thom Yorke, Lou Rhodes and Scritti Politti.
The album was named the 4th best of 2006 in NME's annual best of poll.
The track "And I Was a Boy From School" was ranked at #7 on Pitchfork Media's list of the top 100 songs of 2006.
