The Wall of Darkness is a short story written by Arthur C. Clarke and first published in July 1949 in the magazine Super Science Stories. It was subsequently published as part of a short story collection in The Other Side of the Sky in 1958.

This is the story of Shervane, an inquisitive young man who attempts to understand the unique structure stretching across the equator of his planet. "The Wall of Darkness" is set on an alternate-universe earth so different from ours.
