The Waldorf-Astoria Collection

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Waldorf=Astoria Collection is a luxury collection of Hilton Hotels' premiere, most luxurious and most identifiable boutique hotels and resorts.

In January 2006, Hilton Hotels, Inc, announced it would launch a luxury brand called the Waldorf=Astoria Collection, branded after the famous Waldorf=Astoria Hotel in New York City, called the most powerful hotel name in the world.[1] Hilton Hotels declared that the new brand will create luxurious business hotels and resorts worldwide, exceeding the chain's current luxury brand, Conrad Hotels.[2]

In February 2006, the corporation announced three other landmark properties - the Arizona Biltmore in Phoenix, La Quinta Resort & Spa in La Quinta, California, and the Grand Wailea Resort & Spa in Maui, Hawaii - joined the brand. The company plans to further expand the Waldorf-Astoria line by building hotels in signature world cities including Paris and Singapore, as well as adding more resorts and some existing Hilton and Conrad properties to the Waldorf-Astoria Collection.
