The Village (studio)

The Village (a.k.a. Village Recorders, or The Village Recorder) is a recording studio in Los Angeles, California.
Since the 1960s, The Village has been the home to recordings by artists such as Aerosmith, Christina Aguilera, The Allman Brothers, Tori Amos, Julie Andrews, The Beach Boys, Pat Benatar, Bono, The Cat Empire, The Carpenters, Mariah Carrey, Johnny Cash, Ray Charles, Eric Clapton, Alice Cooper, Elvis Costello, Crosby, Stills and Nash, The Doors, Bob Dylan, The Eagles, Danny Elfman, Fleetwood Mac, John Fogerty, Peter Gabriel, Amy Grant, Guns N' Roses, Grateful Dead, George Harrison, Janet Jackson, Mick Jagger, Jars of Clay, Elton John, Tom Jones, B.B. King, KISS, John Lennon, Little Richard, Los Lobos, Madonna, Randy Newman, No Doubt, Ozzy Ozbourne, Tom Petty, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Rolling Stones, Sam Phillips, Brian Setzer, Sixpence None the Richer, Frank Sinatra, The Smashing Pumpkins, Ringo Starr, Steely Dan, Supertramp, Talking Heads, Tina Turner, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Neil Young and Frank Zappa, among others.
John Mayer recorded his album Continuum at The Village Recorder (among other studios), however released all of the sessions from this studio in his EP "The Village Sessions", featuring Ben Harper.
Many major motion picture and television soundtracks have also been recorded at the studio, including Ace Ventura, Dead Poets Society, O Brother, Where Art Thou?, The Simpsons, Toy Story 2, Walk the Line, The X Files and others.
The Village is also home to KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic radio show, hosted by Nic Harcourt.
