The Victoria Lucas are an indie rock band formed in late 2000 based in Brooklyn, New York. The band began as a three piece but has expanded to a more or less steady nucleus of five members: Juan Stacey (guitar and vocals; founding member), Andy Levine (theremin, trombone, percussion, and vocals), Nate Knaebel (bass and vocals), Kathy Horne (guitar and vocals; founding member), and Randy Costanza (drums and percussion; founding member). They maintain a rather nebulous association with a number of musicians in the New York City area, and have been known at times to perform with as many as eight people on stage. The group's music is a mixture of straight rock, punk, and folk sensibilities that has been compared to the Mekons and early Talking Heads.

•Drummer Randy Costanza was the subject of an eponymous song on the second album by Dutch indie-rock artist Solex.
•An unofficial EP, entitled 5 Songs, has been circulated by some websites and fans. It was intended only to be used as a promotional tool, and consists of the five unmastered tracks from their 2006 album.
•Artist Steve Keene painted the cover for their 2006 release, Hit the Ground Running Fast. He has also created well-known covers for albums by Pavement, Silver Jews, The Apples in Stereo and others.
•Pere Ubu bass player Tony Maimone recorded and produced some of the tracks on their first full-length.
•Eric Emm, formerly of the bands Don Caballero and Storm and Stress has also worked with the band in the studio.
•The band's first single was produced by journalist and musician Rick Karr.
