The Vacancy

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Vacancy is a post-punk/pop band from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. They have released two albums on Anti-Flag's label A-F Records. The first is a seven song EP released in 2003. Six of the tracks on the EP were recorded during the first demo sessions the band had ever done. The demo was given to Anti-Flag's Chris #2 in late 2002 by singer/guitarist Benjamin Robert. Chris enjoyed the demo so much that he signed the band and put it out on A-F the following year with an added bonus acoustic track. The second album titled Heart Attack was released 2005. It was recorded at Mr. Smalls Studio in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and mixed and mastered at The Blasting Room by Jason Livermoore and Bill Stevenson. Both albums were released with critical acclaim but sold poorly. The Vacancy currently tour in the U.S. and have been compared to early Elvis Costello, The Misfits, and The Ramones.
