The Twilight Zone most commonly refers to the classic Twilight Zone television series of 1959-64 and the type of eerie, ironic dark tale it espoused.

However, the "Twilight Zone" is a phrase that originally referred to:

  • The line separating the portion of a planet that is illuminated by sun and that in shadow (in other words, the area between day and night). More officially known as the terminator.

Or sometimes:

  • The illuminated areas inside a cave
