Motorpsycho presents The International Tussler Society (2004) |
The Tussler - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack is the first album by The International Tussler Society, initially a side-project of Norwegian psychedelic rock band Motorpsycho, released in 1994. The album was a soundtrack to a fictional Spaghetti Western-movie by non-existent director Theo Buhara. Its Country-Rock sound marked a drastical departure from the earlier Motorpsycho records, which were hard-rocking.
Originally released only on CD in 1994 in a very limited amount (under 2000 ex.), it was re-released in 1996 on double-vinyl, after the International Tussler Society gathered together again to record some new material in (supposedly) late summer 1995. From these sessions, four songs were included as bonus tracks.
After a long hiatus, the I.T.S. regrouped in 2002 to play some gigs and decided to remaster the original album, which has become a sought-after rarity in the Motorpsycho catalogue. It was finally released in 2003 in its definitive form including all songs from the 1995 sessions.

[edit] Miscellanea
- "Frances" and "Hogwash" (which includes the song "Lobotomizer") are re-arranged songs from Motorpsycho's first album Lobotomizer, whilst "Babylon", "Sunchild", "Waiting for the One" are found on the Demon Box in their original form.
- "A Memory" was originally recorded around 1990, and was intended for their first demo, Maiden Voyage. The song was also re-arranged for this release.
- The original, punk-rock version of "Queen Chinee" was included on Maiden Voyage.
- "Theme from The Tussler", "The Tussler (slight return)" and "Sonnyboy Gaybar" are new songs written specifically for the album.
- "Illinois" was another song first intended for Motorpsycho, but it "slipped through the cracks and became a Tussler song" (B. Sæther).
- "Polka with the Devil" was the first song that was written exclusively for The International Tussler Society. According to Bent Sæther, it "lifted the whole experience to a slightly more ambitious level".
