The Truth about Nanjing
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Truth about Nanjing (Japanese: 南京の真実, Nanking No Shinjitsu) is a proposed film by Japanese filmmaker Satoru Mizushima (水島 総) about the 1937 Nanking Massacre committed by the Imperial Japanese Army in Nanjing, China. The film is intended to portray the massacre as merely political propaganda.[1]
Satoru claims that the project is meant to counter the film Nanking, a 2007 American documentary on the same subject. He has said that the American film is "based on fabrications and gives a false impression"[2] and that it is a "setup by China to control intelligence".
On his blog, Nanking producer Ted Leonsis defended his film by saying: "Our film isn't an anti-Japanese film. It is an anti-war film."[3]
