- 1 September 1975 - Hugh McVeigh (36) and David Douglas (20), both Protestant members of the Ulster Defence Association, were found shot dead by the Ulster Volunteer Force and buried in a field, off Gobbins Road, near Whitehead. It was part of a feud between the two organisations.
