- 18 August 1971 - McDevitt, Eamon (24) Catholic Status: Civilian (Civ), Killed by: British Army (BA) Deaf and dumb man, shot during street disturbances, Fountain Street, Strabane, County Tyrone.
- 18 September 1971 - Robert Leslie (20) RUC shot and killed by the IRA whilst on patrol in Abercorn Square.
- 24 November 1971 - Bridget Carr, civilian killed by PIRA during shooting outside Strabane Army base.
- 12 December 1971 - John Barnhill, Ulster Unionist Party member of the Senate of Northern Ireland, was shot dead by the Official IRA at his home in Strabane. He was the first politician to be killed during The Troubles.

- 16 July 1972 - Tobias Molloy (18) IRA member shot at point blank range by a rubber bullet to the chest fired by British soldier at the Camels Hump checkpoint.
- 19 July - Baby Alan Jack (5 months) killed by an IRA bomb in Abercorn Square, youngest person to die in the troubles.
- 3 August 1972 -William Clark (34) British Army, Killed by IRA whilst attempting to defuse a bomb discovered by side of road, Urney road.
- 27 December 1972 - Eugene Devlin, PIRA member shot during attack on Army patrol, Drumrallagh Estate, Strabane. 1972 was the year in which most deaths (479) attributed to the Troubles occurred.

- 1 February 1973 - William Boardley, British Army soldier shot dead by a PIRA sniper while on roadblock duty.
- 21 June 1973 - David Smith (31) British Army dog handler killed in an IRA booby trap explosion Ballycolman Estate.

- 20 January 1974 Eddie Gallagher and Rose Dugdale hijacked a helicopter in Co. Donegal and used it to drop bombs in milk churns on Strabane RUC station, the bombs failed to detonate.
- 22 June 1974 - Hugh Devine, civilian killed by Army foot patrol in Olympic Drive, Strabane. The following day the soldier involved in the shooting was charged with murder, the first time a British soldier was charged with murder during the conflict.
- 15 November 1974 - Anthony Simmons (19) Manchester, British Soldier shot and killed by IRA sniper in Townsend Street whilst on foot patrol.

- Strabane British Legion Hall bombed by Willie Gallagher. The subject of a BBC programme "The Legion Hall Bombing (Play for Today)", Gallagher was later tried through the Diplock Court system.[1]

- 13 April 1980 - Theresa (Tess) Doherty, civilian killed by Army while travelling in car towards Army checkpoint.
- 27 December 1980 - Heather Pollock, civilian killed by PIRA attack on police.

- 19 November 1981 - John mc Keegan, (49) UDR man shot dead by the IRA in the Ballycolman area whilst off duty.

- 12 May 1982 - Thomas Cunningham, ex-UDR soldier, shot in Fountain Park, Strabane while working by the PIRA.

- 23 February 1985 - Michael Devine (22), David Devine (17) and Charles Breslin (20), all Catholic members of the Provisional Irish Republican Army, were shot dead by undercover British Army members (Special Air Service) , while returning arms to a dump, in a field, off Plumbridge Road, Strabane. The families, many in the local community and across Ireland, believed these, and other deaths, were part of a wider British government "shoot-to-kill" policy, where Irish republican paramilitaries were summarily executed without any attempt at arrest. Substantial damages were awarded to the families by the Ministry of Defence on 7 May 2002, as part of a Belfast High Court settlement.
- 22 August 1985 - Daniel Mallon (65) shot dead by the IRA in the Railway Bar, apparently in mistaken identity for a local contractor who was carrying out work for the security forces in the area.
- 07 October 1985 -McCrory, Damien (20) Catholic Status: Civilian (Civ), Killed by: Irish Republican Army (IRA) Found shot, by the side of road, Drumrallagh, Strabane, County Tyrone. Alleged informer.

- 28 January 1989 - Stephen Montgomery (26) RUC man killed in an IRA grenade attack on his patrol Melmount Road.

- 20 October 1990 David Pollock Protestant civilian shot and killed in an IRA ambush on the Melmount Road.

- 10 February 1997 large PIRA bomb defused on town outskirts.

- 22 October 1999, two men shot and injured in a suspected PIRA punishment attack.

- 29 October 2001, Charles Folliard shot and killed leaving his girlfriend's house. The INLA were suspected of having carried out the murder.
