"The Trip" is the eleventh episode of the HBO original series, Six Feet Under. It was the eleventh episode of the show's first season. The episode was written by Rick Cleveland and was directed by Michael Engler. It originally aired on Sunday August 12, 2001.

Nate, David and Brenda attend a trade conference in Las Vegas. David and Nate confront Matt Gilardi and Nate reveals that he knows of his link to the arson of the home across the street.
Rico finds it difficult embalming a three-week-old baby who died of SIDS. This is made harder when an ultrascan for his heavily pregnant wife shows that there could be complications with the pregnancy.
Brenda is surprised to find that her brother has followed her to Las Vegas and angrily confronts him with her recent discovery that he lied about a suicide attempt years earlier.
Claire visits Gabe at the hospital where he is recuperating from a drug overdose. Initially Gabe rejects her kindness, but Claire knows that she is the only one there for him. She suspects that his overdose was not accidental.
Ruth is mortified when Nikolai changes her role at his flower business because of complaints about her arranging and begins a flower arranging class to improve her technique.
David is arrested having sex with a prostitute in Las Vegas. He calls the only person he can, Keith. Keith helps David because he loves him, but says he'll never do it again and tells David to get help.
Nate and Brenda are shocked when they find pictures of them sleeping in their Las Vegas photos. Billy clearly broke into their room while they were asleep. Brenda gets distressed as she realises the extent of her brother's illness.
Rico's wife Vanessa goes into labour. The baby takes some time to respond, but Augusto is perfectly healthy, much to his parents' delight.
At the hospital, Claire is persistent with Gabe. Eventually the two admit their love for each other and embrace.
