The Tree In a Test Tube
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Tree In a Test Tube is a 1943 short film featuring Laurel and Hardy, with narration by Pete Smith.
It is their only known surviving colour film, shot on 16mm, with the basic storyline being Stan and Ollie demonstrating the various uses of wood. It is basically World War II propaganda; the team apparently made the film during a lunch break while making one of their 20th Century Fox features. Their routine lasts around five minutes; the second half of the film is unrelated documentary footage.
