The Trailer Park Boys is a 1999 sixty-seven minute low-budget independent film that served as the basis and pilot for the later hit Canadian mockumentary comedy series Trailer Park Boys. Directed by Mike Clattenburg, it aired on Showcase Television on April 22, 1999 and premiered at the Atlantic Film Festival later that year.

[edit] Plot Synopsis

The movie starts off with a camera crew making their way to Julian's trailer. He greets them and invites them in, before he gets a phone call from Ricky, his partner-in-business and best friend. It is almost time to go to work, and his girlfriend, Lucy, is heard yelling at him over the phone. Julian explains that a telephone psychic predicting his own death, and he has since decided to show the world what his life is all about.

  • Mike Smith (actor) was the sound mixer on this film. During production, he goofed around on set with his Darren role from The Cartboy, and Mike Clattenburg loved it so much he wrote Bubbles into the series as a character.
  • This was the first acting appearance of Patrick Roach.
