The Ticket That Exploded is an acoustic guitar and vocal duo from Amsterdam, The Netherlands, comprising Vincent de Bel and Nathan de Vos. Making music with roots in the genres pop, indie rock, and country they create a fresh and unique sound which they hold on to throughout their entire repertoire.

They play and sing as one person, there is no battle for spotlight, instead their guitar parts complement each other creating a pulsing, contrapuntal, joy to the ear, carry you high, then drop you in a flotation tank experience. The duo sing of the human condition and the demons that hunt them, but with underlying optimism laid out for you in heart felt, at once dissonant and harmonic, vocal lines.

[edit] History

The Ticket That Exploded was formed May 2004. After practicing many long days and nights sober and often drunk they recorded their first demo on a four-track in November 2004 at Vincent’s home in Amsterdam. It has four songs on it. The Sense 1 album was released July 2006. It contains eight tracks, recorded and produced at the "Timorplein" studio/ living room, Amsterdam. For the first time The Ticket worked with their own pre-programmed beats as a foundation for most of the tracks. Together with the characteristic harmonic vocal and dissonant guitar arrangements, the Sense 1 album sounds urgent with a " poppy " , meloncholic touch. The Sense 1 CD has four different print designs, all by The Ticket That Exploded.
