Dawson tells Pacey he likes Gretchen--news that Pacey does not take well. Pacey and Gretchen take a trip to get her car from her ex-boyfriend, Nick. Pacey bonds with Nick as Gretchen puts her ex behind her.

While painting the new baby’s room with Jack, Dawson finds an old love letter he never sent to Gretchen when he was young. He then gains the courage to share his feelings with her.

While closed for renovations, Joey and Drue get locked in a basement storeroom at the yacht club for the weekend. Joey learns that Drue purposely got them locked in to avoid spending the weekend with his father.

Grams and Mr. Brooks go out on a date, but, assuming she doesn’t know, Dawson tells her that Mr. Brooks is sick.

[edit] Trivia

  • While locked in the storeroom, Drue comments to Joey “Hey, I wonder who they’ll get to play you in the TV version of our ordeal, huh? Probably some former teen-series idol who’s trying to break into features. I’m sure Lacey Chabert can’t wait to cop an attitude and win an Emmy.” Lacey Chabert was previously in the FOX show Party of Five and had recently filmed Not Another Teen Movie.
  • Tao is a Chinese character that refers to the “way” or “path”.
