[edit] Biography

The Sword were formed in 2003 by lead guitarist/vocalist J.D.Cronise in Austin, Texas. Their debut album, Age of Winters, was released in 2006 on Kemado Records. In support of their debut album, they have toured with rock veterans Nebula and Clutch in the United States and Europe. They contributed the song "Under the Boughs" to the Invaders compilation also on Kemado Records. They have recently gained some national attention after a cover of the song "Freya" off of Age of Winters was included on Guitar Hero II. Their lyrics deal with Norse mythology, a common theme in metal music.
