The Swear

The Swear is an Atlanta rock band founded in early 2004 by former Alastor songwriter/guitarist/vocalist Elizabeth Elkins.

Their 2005 debut album Every Trick's A Good One included cover artwork by Jacksonville, Florida-based mixed-media artist Dennis Campay.[1] The CD went on to win numerous press "Top Albums of 2005" awards, despite its independent release status.[citation needed] Elkins and band members Jeremy Zamora (guitarist/songwriter), Kent Aberle (drums) and Kevin Williams (bass) create a sound that skirts influences such as Smashing Pumpkins, Guns N Roses, Green Day and The Distillers. The band has won a Grand Prize award in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest.[2] The Swear is affiliated with heavyweight producer Russ-T Cobb and mastering engineer Howie Weinberg, known for his work on Nirvana's Nevermind and Jeff Buckley's Grace.

The Swear's songs have appeared on F/X's Wanted, The WB's Smallville, The WB's Roswell Season One DVD, FOX's Reunion, TNT's Wanted, ABC's "Life As We Know It", The Discovery Channel's Outward Bound, and five MTV programs.[citation needed]
