The Street (road)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Street is a road in the rich suburban district village of Carlton Colville. It is well known due to its primary commercial site, which of course is the shopping precinct known as Carlton Stores, which comprises a newsagents, a grocery store, and also a florist named, incidently, Poppies. Outside the precinct is a board, known as the village sign, although a competitor to this 'throne' is a large oak tree situated adjascent to the Skoda garage, which, now, ironically, has been taken over by Diahatsu. The Street also inhabits diverse forms of wildlife, such as walruses, bears, and, perhaps strangest, chameleons, native to the country of madagascar. The name 'street' originates from the latin word 'straight', referring to a road running through a village.
