[edit] Plot summary
Drake and his band are rehearsing for there gig opening for a band called The Sparks. Drake tells them to practice more. Josh comes in and and tells them that their dad is on TV and has a new hair style which is trying to compete with Bruce Windchill. Walter forecasts sunny skies for 5 days. Then, Drake's band sees a bus in their driveway. Josh tells them that he rented a bus and invited some of their friends so they could all go to the concert together. Josh then leaves saying he'll meet them at the concert.
At the party in their house, Drake finds out that his ex-girlfriend Lucy is there. He also sees that his ex-girlfriend Christine is there. Drake gets worried because his current girlfriend Carly is coming in a minute and he asks Megan to keep them apart. However, when she arrives, Megan just puts them together. But the girls seem to be getting along well but Drake is still worried. After that, Drake's band comes in saying that it's drizzling outside. Drake is surprised since Walter predicted sunny skies. Meanwhile, Drake's girlfriend and ex-girlfriends are talking and laughing about Drake. Drake tries to find out what they are talking about. Drake's band then comes in telling that it is starting to rain harder. Walter then gets a call telling him to go downtown to do a live broadcast outside. Then, the storm turns off the power. They are all stuck in the house. They watch Walter's live broadcast on a crank powered TV. After a long time, Drake gets a call from Josh saying that the concert was cancelled.
Drake spies on the girls after that and he finds out that they think he is the best kisser. Then, they ask him who he thinks is the best kisser. Drake runs into the living room and everyone doesn't know what to do. Helen then tells them that back in the olden days when there was no electricity people would sing. So, they all start clapping and singing the song "We Will Rock You" by Queen.
[edit] Trivia
- In the ending, they all sing the We Will Rock You song altogether.
- There is reference to another episode. When Gavin ask's Walter what's up with his hair, and he replies with the same question, Gavin says "Touché." But then Walter says, "It's 'tooshe.'" This was also heard in the Season 2 episode Driver's License in which Walter teaches the boys to drive.
- There is an Avatar: The Last Airbender episode called The Storm which (as well as this "Drake and Josh episode) reveals a lot of stuff, like that Crazy Steve likes Dora the Explorer and Gavin could be an adult.
- This is the first appearance of Drake's band with these members.
- This is the first appearance of Drake's ex-girlfriend, Christine, and the second appearance of Lucy. (Lucy's first appearance was in Girl Power, in Season 3.)
- We learn Fudgie is lactose intolerant.
- This is the second appearance of Drake's current girlfriend, Carly.
- This is the first time Drake has had a girlfriend for more than one episode.
- Josh only appears for about 2-3 minutes in this episode.
- This is the first episode in which Gavin and Crazy Steve are seen in Drake and Josh' home.
- This is the only episode so far where Josh is hardly in it.
- When Megan says that their roof is leaking, it really can't be since they have a two story house.
- B.F. Wang's is a reference to P.F. Chang's.
- Crazy Steve loves watching Dora the Explorer, but he responds in the form of his strained screaming insults at her. For example, he says "Why are you asking me? You're the one with the map!". This makes a reference when Dora asks the viewers where they go next. He also says "C'mon Dora it's right behind you!" which resembles when Dora asks the viewers where a certain item is.
- First appearance of Crazy Steve since the season 2 episode Movie Job.
- Running Gags: People Calling Eric Craig. Crazy Steve shouting at Craig.
- This entire episode takes place at Drake and Josh's house.
- In this episode, Carly is his girlfriend. But in The Great Doheny (the episode after Who's Got Game, where he first gets together with Carly), he is dating another girl who can shove her fist in her mouth. This suggests that the episodes could have been aired out of production order.
- This is the third time Lisa Lillian has been referenced in either Drake and Josh or Zoey 101. The first time was Drake and Josh go Hollywood, the second was Zoey 101: Spring Break up.
- Drake tells Gavin that he can't date Audrey. Since Gavin's age is never revealed (and he does seem like an adult) he does seem old enough to date Audrey. (Edit: Drake says that because Audrey is married, which is the whole point of Drake & Josh. Drake's mother marries Josh's father.)
- Josh states in this episode that he rented a bus from getabus.org. If one were to go this site, it redirects to Zoey's profile on Nick.com.
- In this episode, Dora the Explorer airs at night, but the show usually airs during the day.
- If purchased on iTunes, during a certain period of time, this episode has an alternate ending, with Helen singing a different song called Hey I Said. This version was broadcast in the UK.
- At the beginning of the episode, Drake says that the president of Spin City records will be at the concert. During Drake and Josh go Hollywood, the man at TRL says he can hook Drake up with the manager of Spin City records. This along with Josh's dad saying "...and now back to Lisa Lillian." makes it the secong reference to the movie.
[edit] Goofs
- Drake squirts sunblock in the Gary's(the drummer of the band)face. A few minutes later, there is no sunblock on him.
- Crazy Steve is seen watching Dora the Explorer, but it is at night. Unless this is a video tape or a DVD, it would seem illogical for him to be watching Dora the Explorer since this show only comes on during the morning.
- When Crazy Steve watching Dora the Explorer, he yells "Obre los ojos" to the TV. However, "obrir" or "obrer" are not real Spanish words. He should yell "Abre los ojos", which means "Open your eyes" in Spanish.
Drake is actually smarter than others in this episode.
