The Stolen Minks are a band formed in fall of 2003 by four girls in Halifax, Nova Scotia. They were first considered rockabilly and rock and roll, though have evolved into garage rock and indie rock. The name of the band is a play on the word a "minks stole". Influences of The Stolen Minks include artists such as Link Wray and Wanda Jackson. In April 2005, the band was voted best new local artist by "The Coast’s Best of Music" reader’s poll.

The Stolen Minks released their debut, self titled E.P. in August 2005. The album sold all the original copies producecd in a few months. Their second recording, 'Family Boycott' was picked up by the New Romance For Kids label. It was sold on their first tour in August 2006, and was officially released in Halifax in September. It was released nationally in October.
