The Steamroller and the Violin (Russian: Каток и скрипка, Katok i skripka), is a 1960 film directed by Andrei Tarkovsky. It was his diploma film for VGIK, but it was made at Mosfilm and used studio resources. The film is about the friendship of Sasha (Igor Fomchenko), a little boy, and Sergei (Vladimir Zamansky), the operator of a steamroller.
