The State, released in 2000, is the second album released by the band Nickelback. "Leader of Men" was the lead single from this album and "Breathe" was the next single followed by "Old Enough" and "Worthy to Say".
The State was certified Gold by the RIAA in October 2001.
The album has a much darker sound than the follow-up albums Silver Side Up and All the Right Reasons. Lacked in popularity as it was its first album on Roadrunner Records.
