The Star is a daily newspaper based in Gauteng Province, South Africa. It has a readership of 618,000[1] and is owned by Independent News and Media.
The Star gained worldwide attention in 2006 when it published their survey results. According to this survey about 20% of South African men have raped a woman during their lifetime.
