The Squirrels (Arthur episode)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This episode starts at Buster's house where Arthur is sleeping over. The boys watch a televised horror flick called "The Squirrels", a parody of the film The Birds. The next day, Arthur and Buster are afraid to go outside or have the windows open for fear of the friendly chattering squirrels. At school, all of the kids (except Binky for he did not see the movie) were terrified after watching the scary movie. To overcome their fears, the children rent fun children movies about squirrels. (One of the movies parodies Teletubbies) This only calms them down for a little while, though. They finally get a chance to face their fears, when a squirrel runs into the Read house and gets its leg caught in the door. Arthur and Buster bring the squirrel to the vet, and then to their school, after being explained to the vet that squirrels are harmless. Mr. Ratburn's students realize that there isn't anything wrong with squirrels. Nearing the end of the episode, Binky rents "The Squirrels", and he is now terrified to go outside.
