The Square Peg are a punk band from Edinburgh, Scotland. The saviour of this beautiful band was Larry Nicol (aka the square peg, the only punk in iona street). The now veteran still reamins the only original member of the band. The first EP was released in 1984 and was great. It had Big John (later to be in The Eploited and a Nirvana roadie..amongst others)The band didn't do anything much, Larry was still involved in the punk rock scene with his label Stranded Records releasing tapes of the local bands like Bohn Legion, Swine Flu etc. Larry came back from the dead to re-light the almost extinguished flame that was The Square Peg with the incredible album 'REGENERATION' released in 2004. Featuring The Damned cover Stab Your Back. This track is particularly known for getting the crowd pumped on adreniline. Regeneration also featured Needles (Swellbellys frontman) on guitar doing crispy and fuzzing sharp riffs with Larry belting out the words. The bass player and drummer left after the album and were replaced by Gary Spastic (The Happy Spastics) on Bass and the spiked Craedo on Drums, Needles has quit and now guitar duties are to be done by Collin Death. 'The Square Peg' has a good backing, and good friends with bands such as The swellbellys, Happy Spastics, The Restless Natives, 12 Pointless Days, S.C.P.A, and endless amounts of others.
