The Spektors

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Spektors were an Australian rock 'n' roll band active in Perth from 1964-1966, chiefly noted for their drummer and part-time lead singer, Bon Scott, who later went on to great success as lead vocalist with AC/DC.

The band was formed in 1964 by Bon Scott, who at that time played drums, along with Brian Gannon (Bass Guitar), Wyn Milson (Guitar) and John Collins (Vocals). They enjoyed some local success playing popular songs of the time, often by The Rolling Stones and The Beatles. As the band developed, Scott would step up and sing occasionally while Collins played drums.

In late 1966, The Spektors decided to join forces with local rivals The Winstons, and form a new group, The Valentines, with Scott sharing vocal duties with Winstons vocalist Vince Lovegrove.
