The Special Purpose

'The Special Purpose' is a Jazz/Funk Fusion band from Seattle, Washington. Formed in the summer of 2004, the group (consisting of John Fawcett: Drums, Stephen Fogg: 8 String Guitar, Chris Stefanile: Guitar, and Tim Symons (AKA: Dick Danger/Phatty Fatty Dong): Keyboards) has become one of the Pacific Northwest's premier grassroots musical act's. The Special Purpose's band name is a reference to the 1979 cult comedy classic, ’The Jerk'(Director: Carl Reiner, staring: Steve Martin).
