The Skylarks gained a following in Liverpool in the early 2000s. A gig at the Cavern Club attracted the attention of Japanese record label Morning Glory. The band recorded an 8-song album at Parr Street Studios, and it was released in Japan in 2002. The band broke up in 2003. Dave Dutton went on to form The Black Velvets. Paul Molloy has played on records by other Liverpool artists, and joined The Stands in 2005.
