The Silent League is a post-rock band from Brooklyn, New York, which created the only album The Orchestra, Sadly, Has Refused.

It was released in the US on indie label File 13 in 2005 and in the UK on indie label Something In Construction in 2006.

The album received 4/5 reviews in Q, MOJO and UNCUT and 8/10 in NME

The band have toured the UK three times, supported Bloc Party, Interpol, Brendan Benson, Sophia and Keane. They also played the Wireless festival, opening the main stage.

Goliath, Catbird Seat and Breathe were released as singles in the UK.

A new album is expected early 2007. Likely tracks include Aeroplanes, Kings & Queens and Let It Roll.
