[edit] History
After leaving his phone number for Tobias Jesso on a Little Caesar’s pizza box (where Jesso worked at the time), Tristan Martin contacted his friend and previous band’s drummer, Martin Kay, to help form a new group. Jesso would eventually do the same and invited his friend and previous band's guitarist, Josh Abel, to join the group. Along with a friend of Martin’s, the five-piece began to jam under the band name Hello Dolly. Due to creative differences, however, the group would only last for a half year which lead Abel, Martin, and Kay to form a new band called The Sessions. Originally on the bass guitar, Abel made the switch to vocalist/guitarist (and eventually keyboardist) and the band recruited Hello Dolly bassist Jesso to complete the line-up. The four would play their first show in September 2005 at Vancouver’s Piccadilly Pub.
