The Seeker Project is a fictional entity from the science-fiction television series Stargate SG-1

In the Stargate universe, the seeker project was briefly mentioned in the season two episode "Thor's Chariot". The opening scene is of Major Carter explaining to General Hammond that the planet known as P5C-629 is directly in the middle of the corridor of space that the Goa'uld use to reach our solar system, making it the best platform for the Seeker Project.

Major Carter continues to explain that the theory is that a Goa'uld ship of a large magnitude, (such as a Ha'tak Class vessel) would leave a footprint while traveling through space, even at thrusts beyond light speed. Furthermore, Carter explains "Using the technology we already posses we can determine..." before an offworld activation is sounded and the project never mentioned again.

The current status of the Seeker Project is unknown, as it is not mentioned in any other episodes. However, it is unlikely to be in operation, as the spread-out nature of Goa'uld worlds in the galaxy means a single outpost would be of little use for detecting approaching ships (the "corridor" is probably between Earth and Chulak)
