The Secret Life Of... is the debut album by The Veronicas, it was released October 17, 2005 in Australia and it was released in the U.S. on Valentine's Day, 2006. It peaked at #2 in Australia and is certified 4x Platinum. The album also debuted at #5 in New Zealand. The album also peaked at #3 in the Billboard Top Heatseekers. The Secret Life Of... has sold around 50,000 copies in the USA. In early 2007, the album will be released worldwide to countries such as Asia and the UK. Positive reception of singles have already been successful in parts of Europe and Asia.

The first single, "4ever", has received much radio play in Australia, and also some American radio play. It has peaked at #2 of the Australian ARIAnet Singles Chart. It also peaked on #20 in the "US Hot Dance Music/Club Play" chart and #90 in the "US Billboard Pop 100". 20 year old identical twins, Jess and Lisa, signed an exclusive production deal with Engine Room on the strength of their very first demo. The girls then spent the next year creating an impressive catalogue of songs, many of which were written in collaboration with the Who’s Who of world class composers. Such was the buzz surrounding the pair that they were invited to work with proven hit makers Billy Steinberg (Madonna), Clif Magness (Avril Lavigne), Max Martin (Britney Spears) and Dr. Luke (Kelly Clarkson).

A special DVD was released with the US version as an exclusive as limited copies were pressed. The limited edition included two extra songs and videos, and was only available online. However, copies have been found to have been shipped to several stores in Australia including "JB-HIFI".

In September 2006, The Veronicas were nominated for 3 ARIA Awards for The Secret Life Of... these included; "Best Pop Release", "Highest Selling Album" and "Best Breakthrough Album".

On Sunday 29 October, at the ARIA Music Awards of 2006, The Secret Life Of... won best Pop Release, they lost "Best Breakthrough Album" to Wolfmother and they lost "Highest Selling Album" to Human Nature.

The album spent over a year in the Album ARIA Charts, without ever leaving the top 40.
