The Search Agency

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Search Agency is one of the fastest growing search engine marketing firms in the United States of America (#15 of the top 20 agencies according to Ad Age[1]). It was founded by a number of people from United Online and Simpli in 2002. The company is based in California and Rhode Island.

Like most search marketing firms, it uses technology to place other companies on search engines, like Google and Yahoo. While the technology makes things easier, it rarely works fully. Because of that, they employ large numbers of account managers who actively maintain the partner keywords.

The Search Agency uses a mental model of language to help generate keywords for customers. As an example, the technology can take a term, such as Java, disambiguate the term (i.e., Java in the sense of Coffee), and then expand it to include other keywords (i.e., coffee, starbucks, joe). This allows advertisers to expand their reach.

Management Team includes David M. Hughes (CEO), Carl Dunham (CTO), Frank Lee (VP, SEM), and David Rahmel (EVP, SEO).[2]
