The Sartorialist

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"The Sartorialist" is a popular fashion blog by Scott Schumann, a former director of men's fashion at Bergdorf Goodman in New York.[1] After leaving his position to take care of his daughter in 2005, he began carrying a digital camera around on the streets of New York City or wherever he was, taking pictures of people who had dressed in some way that caught his eye, and then posting them to his blog, sometimes with comments.[1]

The blog quickly became a popular read for online fashionistas and, as of April 2007, draws a million page views a month. Schumann began getting other work from serious fashion publications. Condé Nast tapped him to do something similar during Fashion Week in Paris for its style.com website.[1] He also regularly works events for Saks Fifth Avenue.[1]
