The new installment in the Terminator franchise revolves around the characters of Sarah Connor and her teenage son, John. James Middleton says that the series will explore what happened to Sarah Connor after the end of “T2,” when the character went on the run. “She has the weight of the world on her shoulders and also has to raise a teenage son who may be the salvation of humanity,” he said. [1]

Mario Kassar and Andy Vajna are currently developing Terminator 4, which is rumored to be released in 2008. It has not yet been confirmed whether the actors in The Sarah Connor Chronicles will be asked to play the roles of their respective characters in T4.

Andy Vajna and James Middleton have confirmed to Variety that C2 is in "the final phases of development" of a fourth "Terminator" pic and that the series will have a link to what's being envisioned as a new feature trilogy. "There will be a connection," Middleton said. [1]
