The Sandy Post

The Sandy Post is a weekly newspaper, published in Sandy, Oregon, United States. The paper, founded in 1937, serves the communities of Sandy, Boring, the Villages at Mount Hood and the surrounding areas. The newspaper is owned by Community Newspapers/Pamplin Media Group, a company of Robert B. Pamplin, Jr.
The newspaper is the primary newspaper published in Sandy and the special districts in the Mount Hood Corridor between Boring and Government Camp.
Mark Garber is the newspaper's current publisher and vice president of Community Newspapers. Marcus Hathcock is the newspaper's current editor/general manager; he was one of the youngest editors in Oregon history when he was hired at age 23.[citation needed] Garth Guibord covers the Villages at Mount Hood, business and the Oregon Trail School District. Recent alumni include former editor Lloyd Woods of the Portland Business Journal and former reporter Eric Hendricksen, now editor of the East County News.
In 2005, the newspaper received the Oregon Society of Professional Journalists' first place award for comprehensive coverage of the Fouad Kaady police shooting.
