The Sage Group plc (LSE: SGE) is a leading UK based supplier of accounting, payroll, CRM and business management software (including manufacturing and construction-specific ranges) as well as related services to small and medium-sized enterprises (SME). It has 13,000 employees, a turnover of £936 million and a market capitalisation on the London Stock Exchange of over £3 billion (2006).

Founded and headquartered in Newcastle Upon Tyne, Great Britain, the company for many years grew organically, but more recently has grown through acquisitions. It now operates worldwide. The company's US headquarters are in Pleasanton, California, the Canadian headquarters are in Vancouver, Canada and the French and European headquarters are in Paris, France.

It has from time to time been the only UK software company listed in the FTSE 100 Index of leading UK public companies. (The index is redrawn from time to time as companies' fortunes wax and wane.)

The Sage Group is a patron of The Sage Gateshead, a new Tyneside music venue designed by Sir Norman Foster.

The company is focusing on verticals and has recently purchased several industry-focused groups.
