The Runaway Bunny
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Runaway Bunny is a 1942 picture book written by Margaret Wise Brown and illustrated by Clement Hurd. The plot deals with a small rabbit, who is planning to run away. His reassuring mother, however, tells him that "if you run away, I will run after you".
Amazingly, this book, although sixty-four years old, has never been out of print.
A reference to this book was made in Brown's later and more popular Goodnight Moon. The picture of a cow jumping over the moon, which features prominently in Goodnight Moon, also appears in The Runaway Bunny.
A violin concerto based on the book was recently released by Sony/BMG featuring the narration performed by Brooke Shields.
