The Ridge is located in the heart of Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh, India. It is a major tourist attraction of Shimla. It runs alongside the Mall Road which is the shopping hub of Shimla.

The Ridge houses a large water reservoir which acts as the main supply of Shimla town.

Most government functions in Shimla are held on the Ridge as is the famous Summer Festival of Shimla.

Major Landmarks on The Ridge are the Neo-Gothic structure of Christ Church and the new-Tudor library building.

The Ridge connects most major areas of Shimla such as Mall Road, Lakkar Bazaar, Scandal Point, US Club and Jakhu.
