They Played a style of music with influences ranging from Fall Out Boy to Slayer. THE RESCUE offered yet another example of the diversity coming out of Long Island. They recorded several EPs, including the self-released "We Dig Our Own Graves" with producer Mike Sapone (Brand New, Taking Back Sunday), and "Phone Numbers" with producer George Fullan (Anterrabae, Action Action) that saw a June 2004 release through United Edge Records. The band completed a brief stint with He Is Legend and Still Life Projector in August 2004. The Rescue eventually broke up in December 2005 due to lineup instabilities.
