The Quran As It Explains Itself
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Quran As It Explains Itself, commonly known as QXP, is an explanatory translation on the Qur'an by Dr Shabbir Ahmed first published by Galaxy publications in the USA in 2003. The writer has used a different approach to translate Qur'an according to the classical Arabic, using the cross references from the Qur'an itself without depending on hadith at all.

The work before you, although close to a translation, is also an understanding from within the Qur’an itself. This Divine Writ calls itself AN-NUR (The Light) and light needs no extrinsic sources in order to shine. Therefore, I have based my presentation on following principles, derived from the Qur’an itself:
- It explains itself. (6:115,10:37, 75:17-19),
- It repeats its verses from different vantage points for clear understanding (17:41, 17:89, 18:54),
- It has been revealed in the Plain Arabic of its times. (12:2, 20:113, 39:28) The Prophet, who was born and raised in Makkah, belonged to its tribe, the Quraish. The Makkans were the Qur’an’s first audience, therefore, the Qur’an was revealed in their dialect.
I have rendered the terms and linguistics of the Qur’an using the Quraish dialect since it is the Arabic dialect in which the Qur'an was revealed to Muhammad bin Abdullah, the Final Prophet, Messenger and Apostle of God. (570-632 C.E.)
