The Quadruple (Football)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Quadruple is a term used in football to describe the achievement of one team winning four major trophies in one season. This would most commonly be in the form of a national league, a national cup competition, a secondary less significant national cup competition and a European trophy, either the UEFA Champions League or the less prestigious UEFA Cup.
Only one team has succeeded in European Quadruple, Celtic FC of Scotland. In 1967 they won the Scottish Football League, the Scottish Cup, The Scottish League Cup and The European Cup. Notable they also won the Glasgow Cup and the Alfredo di Stefano Trophy [1], which would technically be a sextuple however these aren't widely recognised competitions and are not compatible outside of Scotland.
