The Pulse (program)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Pulse radio program was the brain child of DJ Lance first started in late 1980's on Community radio station 2SER FM (107.3). The radio program was created in Sydney, Australia with fellow DJ, Stevie B and went to air late on a Saturday night into the early hours of Sunday morning. The two DJ's were the first to combine the latest European Dance tracks with the latest sounds of R&B and Hip hop in the one radio format. The schedule became a major influence for other radio stations who copied the format in the early 1990's. The program also launched the career of several local DJ's who came in to do guest spots.
"The Pulse" moved from early mornings into the late Saturday night spot where the program was a rating success. The introduction of Frank Rodi gave the program a slick finish. "The Pulse" lasted on air until 2000, when the program producer, Lance Elias, called it a day and moved into business. Frank Rodi went on to produce a radio program on SBS radio called Alchemy and later a TV version of the same program.
